Yardley launch English Dahlia – a tribute to 'the queen of the Autumn garden'

Yardley may be a quintessentially British brand with rich heritage (dating back to 1770 to be precise) – but as the recent launches show us, their scents truly have a finger on the pulse-point of today.
The Contemporary Classics collection champions British blossoms, via understated, timeless and very wearable representations of some of our nation’s favourite flowers – and the newest addition to the Classics range, English Dahlia, taps right into the current revival of the Chypre family: a green floral-Chypre, inspired by dahlias, a flower sometimes referred to as ‘the queen of the Autumn garden’.
The bright opening offers neroli, citruses and apple – clean and fresh, with the apple delivering a subtle fruitiness that only adds to its effervescent nature. A tender heart of rose, peony, and dahlia accords give the scent an almost downy feel, while nuances of earthy, smoky, patchouli and woody cedar in the base, add a little intrigue to the dry-down but don’t try to steal the show. And last but not least, a soft musk offers a comforting quality that wraps you in an embrace.
Reminiscent of the last days of summer, it makes us think of wide fields, hazy in the afternoon light. So: when the balmy days of summer are behind you but you can’t quite let go, we suggest breaking out Yardley English Dahlia, beckoning the warmth and comfort at the sun back again with the ease of a simple spritz.
