Yardley’s fragrant nod to The Swinging Sixties

The sun is (finally) out and so it seems perfectly apt that we turn our attention to Yardley London‘s latest fragrance, Jade. Namely because it’s everything a green floral chypre should be – fresh, light and well, a little bottle of joy that distinctly smells like a summer’s day.

Created by perfumer Anne-Sophie Chapuis, Yardley wanted to pay homage to the 60s via scent – and that they have.
‘Inspired by current 60s trends in fashion and our heritage as a trend-setting brand of that time, we hope we have created a fresh, exciting addition to our fragrance portfolio,’ explains Quentin Higham, managing director of Yardley London.

Fruity top notes of peach, bergamot and galbanum work in perfect unison alongside rose, jasmine, ylang ylang and orris at the heart. The fragrance finishes in true chypre style, with a warm base of moss, patchouli and sandalwood.

They may be one of the world’s ‘heritage’ beauty brands – but their latest launch (do watch the video below) is most certainly a contemporary fragrance if we ever did see one.
