Valeur Absolue: the fragrance collection with added wellbeing benefits

Fragrance can completely and utterly change the way we feel – it has the power to transport us to a past memory, time or place and can wrap us in its comforting arms when we feel a little worse for wear.

So when Valeur Absolue came onto our radar and we discovered its collection of perfumes have the ability to alter our mood and help shift energies, it was an absolute game-changer as far as we were concerned.

Taking inspiration from aromacology, mineral therapy and the roots of 17th century fine perfumery, each scent fragrantly distills a different mood – the key ethos being to uplift, relax and revitalise.

Infused with essential oils and extracts of Immortelle flower, which stimulates the release of beta-endorphins, the clever composition of active natural ingredients soothe, nurture and inspire passion. Oh, and you may notice some semi-precious stones at the bottom of each bottle, too.

Here’s what to expect from each scent:

Harmonie
Based on the idea of having a moment for yourself, the fragrance fuses soothing and calming notes of neroli, Earl Grey tea and vanilla with a woody base to evoke a comforting feeling – like ‘wrapping a cashmere shawl around you.’

Sensualité
A floral, feminine bouquet of rose de Mai, white flowers, musk, amber and cedar wood that’s bright and summery. Finished off beautifully with a little cluster of mother-of-pearl at the bottom of the flacon.

Joie-Éclat
An uplifting scent based on the vision of something ‘extremely sparkling and fizzy – like constantly replenishing a glass of champagne’. You’ll find notes of pink grapefruit, green cardamom, vetiver and musk that linger sensuously all day.

Valeur Absolue Harmonie, Sensualité and Joie-Eclat, £59 for 45ml
