Tommy Hilfiger finds inspiration in Gigi Hadid – and casts her as 'The Girl'

Tommy Girl was an iconic scent of its time, beloved of teenage girls in the 90s. Now, young women of 2016 are poised to get excited as Tommy Hilfiger bring another fragrance to their collection: The Girl, inspired by their new global ambassador, Gigi Hadid.
One of the hottest models around, Gigi is surely a faultless choice to face the campaign. Really, who better to embody ‘The Girl’: playful, spirited and effortlessly cool…? Gigi observes: ‘”The Girl” means being true to yourself and having fun while you’re at it.’
The must-watch ad – in which our heroine swings nonchalantly on an oversized anchor, and then hops off to brush past a flock of gorgeous sailors, before coolly beating one of them at arm wrestling – is witty and fun. There’s a distinct nautical element, the sailor suits in the film echoing the blue and red ropes that adorn the packaging, and reflected in the freshness and aquatic vibe of the scent.

The juice itself is invigorating, clean, refreshing and green. Think: bracing fresh sheets. Think: diving into clear waters. Think: juicy bites of crisp pears.
That top note of pear adds a hint of fruitiness without losing its freshness, while fig leaf and violet leaf deliver the green feel – which, to begin with, dominates on the skin. The heart is composed of delicate and subtle white flowers. Wisps of jasmine peek through, while lily of the valley – that enchanting, pure flower – dances alongside. Cedarwood and cashmere envelop the base of fragrance up in a woody warmth, adding another, deeper element to the seemingly young and fresh construction.
