Love Shalimar? You’ll want to know about this new, marshmallow-soft play on that iconic fragrance: Souffle de Shalimar. But beyond that, we suspect it’ll gather some new lovers from a younger generation, being not as complicated and multi-faceted as the original – but a perfect scent to introduce ‘beginners’ to the world of Shalimar.
Thierry Wasser has certainly given a new breath to the renowned, legendary scent – and played up the lighter facets of the fragrance.
Enhancing the sparkling citruses and boosting the warming vanilla, the scent is based around white flowers with just a little meander down the gourmand road.
It opens with subtle citruses – lemon, bergamot and mandarin – which when blended with the creaminess of the vanilla make for an almost edible lemon posset aroma that you can almost taste.
The sparkling heart captivates with orange blossom and jasmine, the most delicate and tender of white flowers.
And you get heaps of that gorgeous musky, vanilla-y Guerlain base, which makes us think it would be perfect for layering with the delectable Délices de Bain range, for long lasting loveliness.
To top it off the revamped juice sits in the most beautiful limited edition paint-speckled flacon, as if it had been caught in the middle of a paint fight during Holi festival, abounding with fun and colour. A perfume just bursting to get out.
