In 2015, Penhaligon’s launched their No.33 Cologne – accompanied by a men’s grooming range – in recognition of their 145-year milestone. Named after one of their very first boutiques, it showcases an ingredient used in so many of their formulations, and is described as ‘a contemporary celebration of lavender in all its bracing charm’.
Hints of citrusy bergamot and orange in the top are quickly replaced with aromatic coriander and clary sage. The warmth of lavender, black pepper and cardamom radiate heat from the heart eventually settling into a green and woody base. Softened with vanilla and tonka bean, kisses of smokey tobacco keeps this just as interesting as the man who wears it.
