FRAGRANCE FAMILY: WOODY
Top notes: bergamot, cypress, elemi
Heart notes: incense, Java vetiver, Haiti vetiver, iris
Base notes: sandalwood, patchouli, benzoin
Encre Noire à l’Extrême is a revved-up version of the much-adored, classic vetiver scent, Encre Noire. This time the vetiver is soft and calming, a smooth smokiness that intends to lure you into the darkness – and we’d advise you follow.
Incense lends its dusky depth to the heart, and with vetiver from both Haiti and Java, the dry earthiness is tinged with a salty note that is ever-so-moreish. In the base, you’ll enjoy a tempting trail of patchouli, benzoin and sandalwood.
Lalique have always been deeply synonymous with opulence – and here, the cubic bottle is weighty and rich, crowned with a black wood cap. A little as if the bottle is ‘undressing’, it shows the rich Cognac hues of the juice within.
Modern, minimalist, powerful and a tribute to their heritage via René Lalique‘s ‘Biche’ inkwell, it embodies all components of the modern-day Lalique man.
