He may be renowned for his contemporary tailoring – from two-button jackets to deep side vents – and modern British menswear, but luxury designer Richard James’ talents most certainly don’t stop there.
His signature scent Savile Row has recently relaunched, and it’s a truly seductive, masculine aroma that’s fresh, floral and warming. What more could you ask for?
At the top you’ll discover the freshness of bergamot, mandarin, Chinese ginger, green tea leaves, rosemary and Egyptian basil oil. As it settles on the skin, a blend of floral and spicy notes emerge, from cardamom and coriander oil seeds to tuberose, lily of the valley, lavender absolute and Moroccan rose.
The base grounds the scent as a classic, by way of leather, patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, amber and oak moss.
We spoke to him during fashion month to find out what scent he was wearing, and what he told us explained a lot about the composition of his fragrance: ‘I fell in love with scent as a young child in the late fifties – a time of light, floral, all too respectable fragrances like lily of the valley.’
