Penhaligon’s take us to the fragrant heart of Britain

It’s time to take a olfactory stroll through the British countryside, hand in hand with Penhaligon’s.

Their latest candle collection focuses on none other than the ‘fragrant heart of Britain’. Think along the lines of freshly cut grass, blooming roses and delicate sprigs of lavender…

Each triple wicked candle comes complete with its own pretty little hat box and fictional name. Oh, and how could we forget the beautiful illustrations of Walter Penhaligon and his wife engaged in various country pursuits.

Tea on the Terrace
The surrounds of a English garden in full bloom, cleverly distilled into wax. A delicately floral blend of lilac, rose, hyacinth and narcissus are combined with a subtly sweet hint of heliotrope and choisya.

An Ample in the Orchard
A delightfully green infusion of fresh apples, pears, basil and green pea which are given an instant warmth thanks to a rather chypre base of vetiver, musk, cedarwood and patchouli

A Picnic in the Meadow
Picture yourself laying amongst the long grass in the sunshine – what do you smell? Light this candle and you’ll instantly be transported to that sensuous place. With notes of sun-warmed hay, thyme and clary sage at the top and a heart of clover, geranium and heartsease – this candle encompases the beauty of rolling fields. Amber, dry hay and patchouli give it a warming finish.

A Walk in the Woods
Inspired by a traditional country pastime. From the tips of the trees with notes of soft cedarwood and patchouli to the bed of moss on the woodland floor with notes of violet leaf, sage, lavender and freshly cut grass.
