Olympēa Aqua eau de toilette – a fresh new way to wear gourmand…?

We must admit totally falling for the Greek Gods featured in the stylishly sexy ad campaign for the original Olympēa, launched last year. Now, get ready to swoon once again, as Paco Rabanne have launched a new version – this time an eau de toilette housed in a beautifully frosted talismanic bottle, and intriguingly a marriage of fresh-airyness with a sizzling gourmand undertone. Think salt water slowly cascading from a perfectly bronzed body as they emerge from a crystal blue sea to the warm sand of the beach… oh yes, we’re right there.

Heart notes: ginger flower
Base notes: woods, ambergris, salt crystal note, vanilla

It will be interesting to see if this is a gentle lapping of the scent shores or a huge tidal wave of aquatic style perfumes coming to the fore once more – something we’ve not really seen since their original entré in the 90s. Perhaps as food trends mix with fashion and fragrance, too (salted caramel has been every where the past year – not that we’re complaining!) it’s a fascinating new merging of olfacive families – a fresher approach just in time for the (we hope) hotter months ahead…
