We like a bit of extra intensity now and again – especially when it’s something rather darkly intriguing and ravishingly handsome… Step forward Montblanc who have ramped up the volume of their Emblem eau de toilette, taking the sexiness up several levels with a cocktail of citrus sprinkled with spice.
Montblanc Emblem Intense is that extra twinkle in the eye, the spring in the step – a certain je ne se qua for the scented gentleman who’s always striving to outshine the crowds – quite literally with the bottle getting a metallic coating – and create a lasting impression with those he meets (NB we’d be very interested in meeting him, too, now you come to mention it…)
Montblanc say: ‘Emblem Intense is a spicy interpretation of Emblem, the original scent. It features a cocktail of citrus leaves, cold spices and a refreshing blend of grapefruit, clary sage with a duo of cardamon with coriander seeds.
The intense and elegant heart reveals the signature accord of crispy frosted violet leaves. Wrapped in fruity Pomarose ™, the warmth of the heart is enhanced with spicy notes of nutmeg and cinnamon bark.
In the drydown, precious woods and patchouli are exquisitely blended with a refined velvet suede accord, revealing an amazingly intense and masculine scent.’
At The Perfume Society, we’ve really noticed a resurgence in violet-based fragrances, and it’s especially good to see fragrance houses branching out of the ‘norms’ for men. The spicy additions to the citrus opening don’t hurt, either!
