The week before Valentine’s Day we’ve a special event – an afternoon of guided perfume making with the wonderful Sarah McCartney of 4160Tuesdays, at her studio in West London.
The plan is to make a perfume for your loved one – and no one minds if you decide it’s yourself! – on the Valentine theme. We’ll have the traditional scents of romantic roses, violets, chocolate, vanilla and aldehydes – the smells that famously gave Chanel No5 its sparkling feel. (We wouldn’t want to waste real champagne by putting it into perfume!)
We’ll also have access to more unusual fragrance materials like jasmine tea extract, guaiac wood, leather, cut grass and carrot seed – and it’ll be a truly fascinating workshop.
For our special half day session, Sarah will prepare bases – blends of materials – for you to customise, and at the end of the day, you’ll have a precious 30ml bottle of your own individual perfume. It’s up to you whether you decide to keep it or give it away…!
Tickets are £75 and if you’d like to make more perfumes on the day, they will be at a very special price of £25 each for 30ml.
This is something you could do with a partner, a friend, or on your own – places are limited!
