If you’re unfamiliar with Londoner, brand creator Rebecca Goswell has worked alongside French perfumer François Robert to capture and distill the essence of London’s most characterful locations.
The latest scent to join the collection is SW1X, which is an olfactory take on the area of Grosvenor Square and Knightsbridge.
With the decadence and sophistication of the area in mind, the composition falls neatly into the chypre family. You’ll find notes of oudh, myrrh, saffron and osmanthus, blended alongside the accord of printer’s ink used in bank notes (yes, really).
‘It was important to me to continue the theme of tradition juxtaposed with anti establishment,’ explains Rebecca Goswell. ‘Much of Knightsbridge was originally built and is still owned by Britain’s oldest and most gentrified families, yet there is now a new culture of wealth making its voice heard, hailing from overseas and bringing with it a sensual modern dialogue of luxury, money and sophistication.’
