This week’s Latest Launches take their inspiration from Spring blooms, roses, and even a mysterious Venetian Lagoon. From niche Paris house BDK, there’s Tabac Rose, from Hugo Boss, there’s a new take on top notes and from Carolina Herrera, there’s high-heeled happiness. We couldn’t ask for more!BDK PARFUMS
One of two worldwide exclusives created especially for Harrods by the dynamic new Parisian perfume house (The other is the opulent, aldehyde-powered French Bouquet.) An addictive rose, through which clouds of tobacco waft, the intrigue is ramped up here via the spiciness of cinnamon and pink pepper, luscious, velvety plum and a generous serving of chocolate, making for a creation that is utterly moreish.

GOOD GIRL EDP LÉGÈRE
We quite agree with Carolina Herrera’s observation that ‘If someone tells you that you have enough shoes… Stop talking to them.’ And if someone tells you that you’ve too many Good Girl shoe bottles, ditto, is our philosophy. Joining the line-up, Légère is airier than the original, yet rich in soft, seductive jasmine sambac Imperial, underpinned by creamy woods, smooth tonka and a spoonful of dulce de leche. Run, don’t walk. (Even if means teetering.)
£96.50 for 80 ml eau de parfum
UN JARDIN SUR LA LAGUNE
For the latest in the Jardin collection, Christine Nagel took to Venice for this scent’s inspiration, to a secret garden, housed within the lagoon, unopened for years. Writing to its owner, chosen out of hundreds of letters, she gained access. In this ode to that mysterious, secret space, Madonna lilies fall amongst roots of trees, gardenia bushes grow from salt-laden earth. A tribute to sky, flowers and sea that is soothingly soulful.
£63 for 50ml eau de toilette
HERBAE PAR L’OCCITANE
As we shrug off layers and head outdoors, here’s the perfect spritz: a fresh, green, floral creation from Shyamala Maisondieu and Nadège Le Garlantzec focused around wild grasses, all tangled up in bramble, nettle and wild roses. Bergamot and pink pepper open, and as the sun warms Herbae on your skin, you’ll begin to make out a honeyed sweetness, touches of musk and woody, spicy Cashmeran, the striking bottle tied at the neck with gardener’s raffia.
From £59 for 50ml eau de parfum
What does ‘being a man’ mean in 2019? That’s the question posed with this new Annick Menardo introduction, composed to ‘enable him to be the best version of himself, whatever he does and wherever he finds himself.’ So the power here is subtle, using a new ‘diamond technology’ to ensure top and heart notes – mandarin, apple, cinnamon, sage, lavender, patchouli and rosemary – linger as long on the skin as the base of sandalwood and olivewood.
