Back Perfume Society Latest Launches October 10th

5 fab fragrant favourites – just-launched

We can’t stop wearing these five new fragrances this week in The Perfume Society offices. From berries and botanicals in 4160 Tuesdays Scenthusiasm to warm amber in Terre D’Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver, we think you’ll love them too.

4160 TUESDAYS
SCENTHUSIASM
‘We don’t really launch things the way other people do,’ says Sarah McCartney, perfumer and founder of 4160 Tuesdays, ‘but try them first, and see if they work. Well Scenthusiasm really, really does so it’s officially coming out!’ Inspired by gin (we like the sound of it already!), it’s made with orris butter, rose absolute, lemon and orange, cucumber extract, juniper absolute and coriander, all boosted with musk for extra fragrant longevity. Chin, chin!

Bulgari Goldea Roman Absolut

BULGARI
GOLDEA THE ROMAN NIGHT ABSOLUTE
The genius Alberto Morillas knows precisely how to get under the skin of fabled jeweller Bulgari. Almost their in-house nose, he delivers up yet another scent-sation here, a stunning musky-Chypre evoking the beauty and mystery of Rome and its endless possibilities for nocturnal adventure. Wait till dark to venture out swathed in its dazzling mix of black musk, orange petal, warm fruit, jasmine and patchouli, warmed by vanilla and softened by a crystal musk accord.

FLORIS
A ROSE FOR…
This isn’t your pretty-pretty rose. It’s beyond pretty: rich, dark (that’ll be the warmth of patchouli and sandalwood) and mysterious, with notes of spice, orris and woods beckoning you into its utterly romantic bower of red roses. Tapping into the trend for personalisation, each fragrance is accompanied by a gold pen, to write your name on the bottle – though we suggest you accompany that flourish with the warning: ‘HANDS OFF’, to keep it yours, all yours.

JO MALONE LONDON
HONEYSUCKLE & DAVANA
If the sun’s setting on summer has made you a little sad, simply spritz on Anne Flipo’s ‘happy floral’ for JML, through which wild honeysuckle sunnily twists and twines. To quote the perfumer: ‘The brief was to capture the exact scent of honeysuckle, which we were able to do thanks to the headspace we created in the Cotswolds. We added an unexpected twist with davana, moss and patchouli, turning it into a modern Chypre.’

Terre DHermes Eau intense Vetiver

HERMÈS
TERRE D’HERMÈS EAU INTENSE VETIVER
Casting fresh eyes on (and bringing a fresh nose to) Jean-Claude Ellena’s contemporary masculine classic, his successor as resident Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel reassembles Terre d’Hermès. She’s rearranged  some notes to reveal others – think Sichuan pepper and citrus elements – always placing cool, earthy vetiver firmly front and centre of her interpretation. The flinty minerality of the original is freshened and brightened to dazzling effect, its exquisite clean lines reflecting the flacon itself.
