FRAGRANCE FAMILY: GOURMAND
Equinox Bloom is the first Gourmand fragrance from Penhaligon’s, although you might not know it from the whirl of florals it gives at first spritz.
A flurry of flowers comes sweeping in, there’s neroli and violet leaves sweetened with just a touch of Chantilly cream. Then the heart is orange blossom, frangipani and jasmine, enticing and provocative. The base settles with a hit of brown sugar, ambrox and benzoin.
The sweetness of the final trail on the skin is soothing; like fond memories of childhood baking. Perfumer Olivier Cresp was inspired by a brunch had in London, where the scent of spring blooms married with the smell of his toast laden with marmalade and honey, and so the blend of blossoms and brown sugar was born.
The box is adorned with a pretty and delicate, but hectic pattern that nods to springtime blooms, but don’t let it fool you, the fragrance inside is nothing if not balanced and harmonious. A truly, sweet affair.
