FRAGRANCE FAMILY: FLORAL
To celebrate an incredible 20 years (how time has flown!) Liz Earle commissioned the ultra talented nose of Domitille Bertier to create her very own contemporary fragrance portrait of a rose.
From the deeply scented petals to the green leaves and woody stem, this is sparkling with effervescence and joie de vivre. (We’d call Botanical Essence No.20 a smile in a bottle.)
Upliftingly dew-speckled and joyously radiant, it opens with a warm tingle of pink pepper balanced with the freshness of bergamot and softened by a translucent-feeling rose water. Mandarin essential oil steps up the pace again as the heart bursts with a surprising note of carrot seed mixed with jasmine sambac. (Carrot seed is definitely a trend to watch, by the way.) Finally, amyris sinks soothingly into the smooth sandalwood and creamy vanilla beans of the base.
Using the most precious of ingredients is central to the ethos of Liz Earle – and here Domitille was allowed to run wild, with access to some of the most costly naturals she had ever been allowed to use. While interviewing her for this website, Domitille revealed to us that ‘…this is the most expensive perfume, ingredient wise, I have ever worked on. They told me to use the very best of the best, and I LOVE that. But I have to tell you, for us perfumers, that’s very rare!’
Over 87% of the raw materials for this fragrance are derived from natural ingredients, expertly combined to create a perfume perfectly balanced between vitality and refinement. We think Botanical Essence No. 20 is one of those perfumes you could happily wear the whole day (and year) through…
