Design with Scents 2015: a five-day training at the London College of Fashion

Perhaps you’re considering a career in fragrance. Maybe you long to explore the world of scent and smell in really much greater depth. Between one-day workshops and degree courses that require years of commitment, there are precious few opportunities to explore perfumery and scent in depth – making this course, led by Nicola Pozzani with creator/experts Joanna Norman and John Ayres, a must for anyone who really wants to take their passion to a new level, either professionally or privately.

The course has previously attracted those working in marketing, advertising, fragrance creation – as well as fascinated amateurs. It focuses in particular on the design of places and spaces through the sense of smell – and for the fourth year, from 6th-10th July, these experts are bringing together an eclectic group of speakers for this multi-sensory, interactive training programme.

There’ll be presentations from wine journalist Maggie Rosen, ‘Scent Provocateurs’ Christina Nglam and Alex Mucha, Chrissi Kelly of Fifth Sense (the UK charity for taste and smell disorders), a ‘Smell Walk’ in memory of Dr. Victoria Henshaw – and much more. A key element of the five-day course is exploring the sense of smell and experimenting with blending oils; you’ll also receive your own personal ‘fragrance kit’.

The course is priced just £750 to include the perfume kit and just 15 spaces are available.
