The latest fragrant turn from avant garde fashion house Comme des Garçons comes in the form of Black Pepper.
Spritzed from their signature organically sculptured glossy flacon, it’s an entire universe of pepper: perpetually warm and spicy, subdued on the skin by the introduction of weathered leather, soft tonka, cedar and lingering musks.
In a fitting celebration for the launch of Black Pepper, and a nod to their creative ethos, Comme des Garçons commissioned an exciting installation inspired by the fragrance to be displayed at Selfridges stores across the UK. From the mind of designer and artist Faye Toogood, six individual black mottled sculptures stand to represent key notes of the scent, moulded from her own interpretation but undisclosed so that each viewer can decide for themselves which is which.
After being unveiled in Selfridges Oxford Street the artwork has now moved on to its Birmingham branch. Catch it there.
