A heady mix that builds layer upon layer into a silky and soft yet dark and musky bouquet. Clinique’s new scent Beyond Rose captures the spirit of the Middle East through its high concentration of pure ingredients that sensuously linger.
Created by master ‘nose’ Alienor Massenet, the floriental scent draws you in with feminine accords of velvety rose at the heart, surrounded by white pepper, freesia, natural osmanthus and fresh mate leaves which lend a spicy undertone.
Warming amber, styrax, benzoin and labdanum at the base offer a ambrée, musky dry-down.
‘I instantly pictured a fragrance where the rose would have the leading role,’ explains Alienor. ‘I imagined a flower which was very downy and soft, similar to the roses that my parents have in their garden nearby Paris. Their petals are like silk, and the colour is very intense.’
