Cartier La Panthère launched last year to wide acclaim: perfumer Mathilde Laurent‘s ‘feline floral’ is a nod to the sophisticated Chypre family of fragrances – and encased in a bottle as stunning as the scent itself.
Through a triumph of the glassmaker’s art, the inside of the flacon is sculpted like a panther’s face.
This new spin on La Panthère – in the form of an eau de perfum ‘légère’ (‘light’) – has us purring, too. The flacon, this time, is shaped like a panther on the outside – and clear, not frosted.
It sparkles in the sunlight – as does the fragrance itself, which focoses on a sexy musk-gardenia accord, which is given an exotic touch via tiaré flower (a.k.a. frangipani, and a pulsing white floral from the tropics). As with last year’s La Panthère, it’s a Chypre. (Read more about that so-sophisticated family of fragrances…)
To try it for yourself, you’ll need to prowl around Harrods for now – but it’ll be launching nationwide soon.
