There’s ‘Something in the Air’ at Harvey Nichols right now. Unveiled on Wednesday night on the Fifth Floor of the Store ‘Art & Alchemy’ is a first-of-its-kind immersive experience.
Open until the end of August, it will showcase and celebrate four fragrance houses: Experimental Perfume Club, Serge Lutens, Widian and MEMO Paris – whose beautiful, globally-exclusive-to-Harvey-Nichols, winged-topped Flying Collection is featured (see below), to kick off ‘Art & Alchemy’.
In a darkened room, anticipation mounts – and then bang! Two clouds of vapour are released from opposite ends of the room, cleverly meeting in the middle as two smoke rings. The clouds, of course, are scented – and the fragrance will change for each perfume house’s takeover. It’s quite something to see – and smell.
You then have the opportunity to explore in-depth ingredients and smell the fragrances at an interactive workshop area. Showcased currently are these four fabulous creations from MEMO Paris, each with a ‘flying’ cap inspired by the wings of gilded statuary.
Discover explore and enjoy…

Supported by The Fragrance Foundation and hinting at much more scent excitement to come from the Knightsbridge department store, ‘Something in the Air’ is yet another perfumed pitstop on London’s increasingly exciting fragrance map.
